TGC Canada Council Member Paul Martin

Paul Martin is the senior pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Toronto, Ontario. After leading the plant in 2000, he was involved in helping three other churches start in the city. He hopes to be involved in launching many more. His passion for training leaders has led him to teach at local seminaries, as well as oversee a long-standing mentoring program for potential future pastors. His love for the kind of Gospel cooperation modelled by his hero, George Whitefield, inspired his work with the Grace Connexion, the Hogtown Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship, the Toronto Gospel Alliance, 9Marks, and The Gospel Coalition. His zeal for the preaching of God’s Word has led to work with The Charles Simeon Trust. His affection for the disabled community, especially after disability entered his family through his son, has given him opportunities to speak for The Elisha Foundation and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. It also prompted his zeal to protect the unborn and work closely with a local pregnancy care centre. He has been married to Susan for more than twenty-five years and loves to spend time with their four children. Sadly, he is a pathetically loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and remembers well the last time they won the Stanley Cup. He was 10 months old.

You can find Paul on Facebook, Twitter (@PastorPWMartin) or his blog (preacherthoughts.blogspot.ca) or via the website of Grace Fellowship Church, Toronto (gfcto.com).

After a 38 year career in health care Kurt Davis now uses his gifts of administration and experience in association management to serve in a variety of different volunteer roles. Having previously spent too many years in a church where the Gospel was rarely well preached, Kurt now has a passion for encouraging others in pursuit of the Gospel, and has served on conference committees for TGC Ontario since the first conference in 2009.

Kurt is a member of West Highland Fellowship Baptist Church in Hamilton and is currently the Deacon for Life Groups, as well as serving as moderator for the quarterly business meetings. He has also lead a number of mission teams to Poland where his daughter serves as a missionary.

Kurt and his wife Sherry have been married for 43 years and have eight, soon to be nine, grandchildren - four in Wroclaw, Poland and five in Ancaster, On.

When not busy doing volunteer work Kurt can be found working on his N-scale model railroad, or doing various handy man chores for his daughters on both sides of the ocean! Summer months find him searching for small mouth bass on the North Shore of Lake Erie where he currently resides. He also enjoys the challenges of technology, and some days spends too much time on his computer.
